Opening of '1408'

14 Seconds in to the opening of the title we come across a black screen, with a title saying 'Dimension Film Presents' playing low deep music. After 29 Seconds rain starts pouring with a car coming towards the centre of the camera and then the first name of one of the main actors come up. At this point pathetic fallacy is setting the scene, because of the dark rainy night sets of the feeling of the time.

Low key lighting is still appearing with the headlights of the car come right up the the camera, at this point from the reflection of the light the title then drips down the reflection to the bottom left hand side of the screen. The title is in a sans serif font which has been edited to try and make the ink leak from the rain.

56 seconds in there is a P.O.V shot looking at the board saying 'Please Come Back Soon' to which he then realises he has gone the wrong way, after this point at 59 seconds in it then moves to a close up on the map he is looking at.

At 75 seconds in the car then pulls up outside the hotel with the rain getting heavier and heavier, there is still low key music playing at this point. Also we are still having names of the actors appearing on the screen.

84 seconds in we got a long shot of the bloke walking across the isolated bridge which gives off the feeling he is in the middle of no where and the Hotel is cut of because its surrounded by this tiny lake.

At 91 seconds in the camera is hidden between bushes which gives of the effect that someone is watching him going into the hotel.

96 seconds the camera the goes inside the house and the Mise-En-Scene changes to high lighting with natural colours surrounding him showing that this place isn't really a top notch hotel.
